Job summary

ESAB Corporation in Monterrey, Mexico is seeking a Materials Planner to plan, schedule and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle. You will obtain materials using production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels, including Just in Time purchases and EOQ, and will resolve discrepancies.

You will create and maintain bills of material, ensure material standards are met, and manage non-conformances.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

• Develops specifications for new contract orders.
• Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards.
• Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
• Evaluates vendor reliability and develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive.

Creates and maintains bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprise wide systems. Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized. Develops specifications for new contract orders. Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards. Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. Evaluates vendor reliability and develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive. General application of concepts and principals to resolve a variety of issues. Works on problems of a moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Normally receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Typically requires a degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
