Jr. Buyer at AFL Monterrey Plant is seeking a detail-oriented professional to plan and procure raw materials to support production needs. You will manage POs, monitor vendor performance, and optimize inventory levels in a lean manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 1+ years in material planning and purchasing, and strong MS Office skills. This is a full-time, on-site role at AFL Monterrey Plant.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
• 1+ years’ experience in material planning and purchasing.
• Solid understanding of materials operations, planning and inventory control in lean manufacturing.
• Results-oriented with problem-solving and change-implementation mindset.
• Intermediate or proficient user of MS Office.

Responsabilidades

• Execute planning and procurement of raw materials to support production, using MRP systems and tools to create/maintain requisitions and POs.
• Ensure purchase orders are defined, entered, and updated accurately; review requirements and vendor performance; expedite materials when needed.
• Deliver supply chain objectives in line with BU plan, balancing material availability and cost.
• Analyze/adjust inventory levels to match demand, lead times, and initiatives.
• Communicate delivery, quality, service, or pricing issues to vendors and resolve promptly.
• Analyze inventory against demand/lead times and advise supply chain analytics on adjustments.

Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management preferred; will consider equivalent work experience.

1+ years’ experience in material planning and purchasing is preferred.

Must have solid understanding of materials operations, materials planning and inventory control in a lean manufacturing environment.

Results-oriented professional able to solve problems and implement change.

Intermediate or proficient user of MS Office.

Key Functions

• Execution of the planning and procurement of raw materials to support production requirements utilizing Materials Requirements Planning System and other planning tools or develop tools as required to create and maintain requisitions, purchase orders, acknowledgements and resolve invoice issues.
• Ensure that all purchase orders are clearly defined, entered, and updated in an accurate and timely manner, review open requirements and vendor performance, expediting materials where necessary.
• Deliver assigned supply chain objectives in support of annual BU plan, while balancing material availability against cost.
• Analyze/adjust inventory levels as required to coincide with changing customer demand, lead time changes and other initiatives.
• Ensure that problems relating to delivery, quality, service, or pricing are promptly conveyed to the vendor and resolved in a timely manner.
• Analyze inventory levels based on changing demand and lead times and make recommendations to supply chain analytics team for adjusting inventory levels.

Required Education

Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.
