Descripción del empleo

The Production Planner is responsible for translating the Master Production Schedule (MPS) into short-term, executable production plans, ensuring daily alignment between demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity. This role ensures disciplined work order releases, controls backlog, and supports program compliance—minimizing reactive rescheduling caused by material shortages, capacity constraints, or execution gaps.

The Production Planner also plays a key role in maintaining operational stability, improving Schedule Attainment, and supporting operational performance through structured planning and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a rolling 3-week production plan aligned with the MPS.
  • Release work orders ensuring material coverage and operational readiness.
  • Monitor and control work order aging to prevent overdue backlog.
  • Measure and track Schedule Attainment, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify material shortages that impact production and coordinate with Purchasing to resolve constraints.
  • Adjust production plans based on capacity utilization, material availability, and priorities.
  • Ensure shipment compliance by aligning production with committed dates.
  • Manage backlog within defined planning windows and elevate risks to management.
  • Participate in NPI planning and integrate new products into the production plan.
  • Support overtime planning and capacity balancing when required.
  • Maintain planning data accuracy in the ERP (work orders, dates, parameters).
  • Generate and maintain operational reports.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings.
  • Support resolution of WIP transactional discrepancies that affect plan accuracy.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce reactive rescheduling and improve plan stability.
  • Perform additional functions and projects assigned by the Materials Manager within the scope of the role.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX).
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage planning data.
  • Analytical thinking focused on demand, capacity, and backlog management.
  • Knowledge of BOM structures, routings, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Warehouse.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize under pressure.
