P3 Americas is seeking an experienced packaging professional in Mexico to support the development of packaging for new vehicle projects. The role involves coordinating packaging concepts for various container types, managing approvals, and tracking milestones with internal and external partners.

You will work closely with Packaging Planning, Logistics, Assembly, Purchasing, Quality and suppliers. English proficiency is required; travel to plant and supplier locations will be needed.

Formación

• Experience in automotive packaging development or a comparable logistics/manufacturing role.
• Experience with container development processes including concept approval, prototype/sample approval, series tendering and container availability tracking.
• Willingness to travel to the plant, container suppliers and other production locations as required; English for project communication.

Responsabilidades

• Support development of packaging concepts for new vehicle projects from concept to series availability.
• Coordinate packaging concepts for various container types (special, steel, in-house, standard, one-way).
• Manage concept approvals and ensure BMW-standard requirements are met.
• Coordinate tenders for prototypes, pre-series and series containers; prepare technical docs and offer comparisons.
• Organize and support container reviews and acceptances at plant and suppliers.
• Track container availability, maturity, and milestones until handover to series production.
• Maintain packaging documentation and system status for assigned containers/part families.
• Provide regular project status updates and escalate delays early.
• Collaborate with Packaging Planning, Logistics, Assembly, Purchasing, Quality, suppliers and internal teams.

Descripción del empleo

• Support packaging development for new vehicle projects from initial container concept through series availability.
• Develop and coordinate packaging concepts for special containers, steel containers, in-house containers, standard packaging and one-way packaging.
• Manage concept approvals and ensure packaging concepts meet the required BMW standards and project requirements.
• Coordinate tenders for prototype, pre-series and series containers, including preparation of technical documentation and offer comparisons.
• Organize and support sample container reviews and acceptances at the plant and at container suppliers.
• Track container availability, maturity status and project milestones until handover to series production.
• Coordinate standard and alternative packaging concepts together with component suppliers and internal departments.
• Maintain the required packaging documentation and system status for the assigned containers / part families.
• Provide regular project status updates and elevate delays or open issues early.
• Work closely with Packaging Planning, Logistics, Assembly, Purchasing, Quality, container suppliers and component suppliers.

Required Experience

• Proven experience in automotive packaging development, container planning or a comparable logistics / manufacturing role.
• Hands-on experience with special containers, reusable steel containers, in-house containers and standard packaging.
• Experience with container development processes such as concept approval, prototype/sample approval, series tendering and container availability tracking.
• Experience working in automotive vehicle launch or industrialization projects.
• Good understanding of automotive logistics and production processes.
• Experience working directly with OEM departments and external suppliers.
• Experience with BMW packaging processes and systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience with JIS / Just-in-Sequence packaging concepts is a strong plus.

Technical Knowledge

• Automotive packaging and container development.
• Packaging specifications and container concepts.

• Tender preparation and supplier coordination.
• Packaging maturity and milestone tracking.
• Standard, alternative and one-way packaging concepts.
• Automotive logistics interfaces between production, logistics, suppliers and purchasing.
