Industrias Eléctricas AG, S.A. de C.V. is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design and develop industrial packaging solutions for electrical equipment and components.

You will create 3D models, drawings, and BOMs using CAD software, and select materials to protect products through ISTA, ASTM, and ISO testing. You will collaborate across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and suppliers to implement improvements, develop production work instructions, and drive cost reduction,

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in packaging/engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial packaging design.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Knowledge of packaging materials and ISTA/ASTM/ISO standards.
• Experience with packaging validation, cost optimization, ECO/ECN, PDM/PLM.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel; ERP experience preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced English.
• Preferred: experience in electrical manufacturing and sustainable packaging.

Responsibilities

1. Design and develop industrial packaging solutions for electrical equipment, switchgear, transformers, and metal components.


2. Create 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM) using CAD software.


3. Design packaging solutions using wood, steel, corrugated cardboard, foam, plastics, and recyclable materials.


4. Validate packaging designs through impact, vibration, compression, and humidity testing in accordance with ISTA, ASTM, and ISO standards.


5. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and suppliers to implement new packaging solutions and design improvements.


6. Develop packaging specifications and work instructions for production.


7. Lead cost reduction, standardization, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives.


8. Manage engineering changes, drawing revisions, and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.


• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial packaging design and development within a manufacturing environment.


• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software, including 3D modeling, engineering drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).


• Strong knowledge of packaging materials (wood, steel, corrugated cardboard, plastics, foam, and recyclable materials) and packaging standards such as ISTA, ASTM D4169, and ISO.


• Experience with packaging validation, cost optimization, continuous improvement, and Engineering Change Management (ECO/ECN, PDM/PLM).


• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Syteline, or similar) is preferred.


• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.


• Preferred: Experience in the electrical manufacturing industry, including switchgear, transformers, or industrial equipment, as well as knowledge of sustainable packaging practices or ISTA certification.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication, teamwork, organizational skills, leadership, a hands-on approach, initiative, and a results-oriented mindset.
