Job summary

FORVIA HELLA is seeking an Optomechatronics Specialist – Electronic Packaging Expert Sr to develop and industrialize lighting PCBA systems with international partners in the Lighting division, ensuring reliability and seamless integration in global automotive programs.

You will drive the release of PCB/PCBA technologies, support supplier collaborations, and lead root-cause analyses across DV/PV stages, with a strong emphasis on soldering, contacts, and thermal management within cross-functional

Qualifications

• Electrical or electronics/mechatronics/photonics/mechanical engineering degree.
• 5+ years in packaging technologies (SMT, PCBA design/testing, change management, PCBA failure analysis), automotive preferred.
• Deep knowledge of electronics, PCBA production, PCB production, optics, thermal management, LED technology.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking, communication skills and assertiveness.
• Proactive, team-oriented with initiative; able to coordinate project teams.
• Ability to coordinate and manage cross-functional project teams.

Responsibilities

• Release of new PCB and PCBA technologies.
• Release reliability for new electronic components used in lighting.
• Develop projects with interdisciplinary teams.
• Release feasibility studies for internal and external PCBA production and support its industrialization.
• Collaborate with local/global PCB and PCBA suppliers and ensure the development of the right technologies considering specific customer needs.
• Understand the PCB and PCBA market to choose the best technologies in terms of costs and quality.
• Lead root cause analysis during DV/PV stages.
• Lead reliability test proposals for revalidations in PCB/PCBA changes.
• Steer DtC and Re-DtC activities for PCB technology with cross-domain teams.
• Support series projects affected by PCNs/PDNs/PTNs, relocations, FA.
• Be a member of Global EPE Expert Network and share know-how with the NSA region and global team.

YOUR TASKS

As Optomechatronics Specialist – Electronic PackagingExpert Sr, you will develop and industrialize highly innovative lighting PCBA(Printed Circuit Board Assy) systems with international partners in theLighting division and ensure their reliability and system integration in globalautomotive series projects.As Electronic Packaging Expert you will be responsible for developingand releasing electronic packaging technologies on PCBAs with special emphasison soldering, contact and process technologies during the entire projectlifetime from quotation throughout series production, having a clearunderstanding of system’s limitations and the impact to several domains such asOptics, Electronics, Thermal Management and Mechanical Design. Some of theactivities that you need to perform as Electronic Packaging Expert are:

• Release of new PCB and PCBA technologies.
  
• Release of reliability for new electroniccomponents for lighting division (LEDs, connectors, etc.)
  
• Develop new projects along with interdisciplinaryteams.
  
• Release feasibility studies for internal andexternal PCBA production and support its industrialization.
  
• Work closely with local/global PCB and PCBAsuppliers and ensure the development of the right technologies consideringspecific customer needs.
  
• Understands the PCB and PCBA market to choose thebest technologies in regards of costs and quality.
  
• Key player on root cause analysis when detectingfailures in DV / PV stages.
  
• Key player on reliability test proposals forrevalidations in PCB, PCBA changes.
  
• Steers DtC and Re-DtC activities for PCBtechnology with cross-domain teams
  
• Supports series projects that are affected byPCNs/PDNs/PTNs, relocations, FA.
  
• Member of Global EPE Expert Network andresponsible for sharing know-how and specific trends in NSA region with yourglobal team

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Successfully completed studies in electricalengineering, electronics, mechatronics, photonics engineering, mechanicalengineering or similar.
  
• +5 years of professional experience in the field of packagingtechnologies (SMT, electronic design, electronic testing, changemanagement, PCBA failure analysis), ideally in the automotive sector -preferred.
  
• Deep-Knowledge in the fields of electronics, PCBAproduction, PCB production, optics, thermal management, LED technology.
  
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking, strongcommunication skills and assertiveness.
  
• Proactive, team-oriented way of working with a highdegree of initiative and motivation.
  
• Ability to coordinate and manage project teams.
