Job summary

FORVIA HELLA is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco. The role leads automotive product development from RFQ through validation and launch, ensuring QCT targets are met and coordinating global cross-functional teams.

The candidate will translate customer and regulatory requirements into robust specifications, drive technical decisions, and support continuous improvement and knowledge transfer across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering.
• 5+ years of automotive product development experience.
• Knowledge of product development processes, validation methodologies and V-Model.
• Experience leading technical discussions and coordinating cross-functional teams globally.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with stakeholder management.

LEAD MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

YOUR TASKS

• Lead the development of automotive products from RFQ phase through validation and launch, ensuring compliance with Quality, Cost and Timing (QCT) targets.
• Define and drive technical solutions, translating customer, legal and internal requirements into robust product specifications and development strategies.
• Coordinate cross-functional and global development teams, managing technical risks, project milestones and resource planning throughout the product lifecycle.
• Validate product concepts through simulations, calculations, testing and verification activities, ensuring compliance with automotive standards and customer expectations.
• Act as the technical representative for customers and internal stakeholders, supporting continuous improvement, lessons learned and knowledge transfer across the organization.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive product development, including responsibility for complete development projects.
• Strong knowledge of product development processes, validation methodologies and industry standards, including V-Model principles.
• Proven experience leading technical discussions and coordinating cross-functional teams in a global environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive technical decisions.
