Amazon Mexico's Fulfillment Center is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a functional area (Inbound, ICQA, Outbound), manage Area Managers, and drive budgetary and people development objectives.

The role focuses on achieving safety, quality, performance and customer experience goals, working with cross-functional teams and implementing process improvements. A Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of operations management experience are required, with fluent English.

  • 8+ years operations management experience in manufacturing, production, distribution environment or related industry.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and supervise a team of Area Managers and associates in outbound, sort or inbound operations within the Fulfillment Center.
  • Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of the shift.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals.
  • Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; resolve problems; and address staffing needs.
  • Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning.
  • Ability to develop and share best practices across the shifts and network.

Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for one functional area (Inbound, ICQA, Outbound) as Operations Manager. Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Area Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.

Description

Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for one functional area (Inbound, ICQA, Outbound) as Operations Manager. Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Area Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.

  • Drives creation of staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Change/Six Sigma initiatives to enable their Functional Area and ultimately the SC to meet and exceed Business Plan. Sets / clarifies requirements and expectations for Area Managers.
  • Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Area Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.
  • Leverages the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area.
  • Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network.
  • Works closely with partner functions (PXT Manager, Financial Manager, Facilities Manager, LH Manager, S&LP Manager, and Other Ops. Managers, IT Manager) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in his/her area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives.
  • Able to address operational and personnel issues affecting functional area.
  • Surface issues with potential to affect multiple functional areas, along with ideas for solutions, to Ops, General Manager and / or HR.

Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years of operations management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
  • 8+years Operations Management experience in manufacturing, production, distribution environment or related industry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the management of large teams (50+ members)
  • Bachelor's degree in business, data science, public administration, finance, engineering, human resources or related field, or a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and experience in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)
  • 8+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
