General Motors de México is seeking a Resident Product Engineer to represent Design and Product Engineering at Engine, Transmission, RESS or Drive Unit manufacturing locations. You will communicate issues across Product Engineering, Product Teams and Plant personnel and lead root-cause analyses for warranty and quality events.

The role requires a BS in a related engineering field, 5+ years in transmission design-release-quality, advanced English, and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

Formación

• Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years in transmission design-release-quality experience.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Knowledge of product engineering processes and tools.
• Communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsabilidades

• Focal point for communicating product/process issues between Product Engineering, Product Teams and Manufacturing Plant personnel.
• Lead resolution of component, subsystem, and assembly issues related to product engineering design/ specifications.
• Lead activities to root cause and address warranty issues with site quality engineering.
• Lead activities to address material scrap through quality holds and salvage/repair procedures.
• Feed back learnings from TWOs and quality issues to DREs and Technical Specialists to strengthen BOM/DFM experience.
• Support introduction and launch of new designs into production through PTRs, ETRs, SPCRs, and readiness reviews.
• Engage with Plant Floor Change Management requests to assess changes impacting quality/functionality.
• Support release of BOD/BOM compliant designs.
• Support planning and build programs for pilot, preproduction and prototype builds.
• Participate in meetings like PRT, PET, PAPIR, CPIT, DSE, and Plant Quality Team meetings.
• Communicate/document issues across plant and engineering teams; share best practices.
• Inform Plant personnel regarding product function and requirements; assist BIQ and continuous quality improvement efforts.
• Domestic travel - up to 5%.
