Job summary

General Motors Corporation in Silao, Mexico seeks a Maintenance Group Leader to steer maintenance for Body Shop equipment, ensure safe operations, and coordinate engineers and technicians. You will oversee preventive and corrective activities, monitor alarms and backlog, and push continuous improvement programs across safety, quality, and cost metrics.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field and 1–3 years in automated manufacturing maintenance, plus experience with FANUC robots,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in maintenance of automated manufacturing lines.
• Knowledge of industrial robots (FANUC), PLCs (Allen-Bradley), networks, resistance welding, and body shop conveyors.
• Experience in failure analysis, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead teams, foster collaboration, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance employees and provide coaching, development, and performance feedback.
• Coordinate preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
• Monitor equipment alarms, downtime, work orders, PM compliance, and maintenance backlog.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
• Support Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Safety, and other plant functions.
• Maintain standardized work, maintenance procedures, and plant systems (e.g., Maximo).
• Drive improvements in safety, quality, cost, responsiveness, and environmental performance.
