Job summary

Transocean Offshore is seeking a 3rd Mate to assist the Chief Mate and 2nd Mate in controlling rig marine operations with emphasis on safety, equipment maintenance, and environmental protection.

Reports to the 2nd Mate; no formal supervision listed. Requires valid 3rd Mate licenses, sea-time related credentials, and strong knowledge of marine calculations. Company focuses on safety and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Unlimited 3rd Mate Licenses (Home country and Flag state).
• Knowledge of all technical calculations for safe marine operations.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates for area of operation.

Responsibilities

• Exercise safe navigation of the vessel in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Assist with voyage planning and rig move operations.
• Mentor and train crew to ensure competence for current and future roles.
• Promote safe and respectful work environment and participate in safety meetings.
• Participate in annual performance appraisal and competency assessments.
