Job summary

Advanced Energy seeks an experienced Lead NPI Engineer to drive new product introductions from prototype to mass production. You will bridge design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, ensuring on-time launches within cost targets and performance specs.

The candidate will lead cross-functional teams, optimize manufacturability, and mentor engineers while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on technical leader with cross-functional communication.
• 7+ years in electronics manufacturing or NPI roles.
• Experience launching new products in high-volume environments.
• Knowledge of PCBAs, electromechanical assemblies, SMT/TH processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead all NPI activities from prototype through mass production.
• Act as primary technical owner during product transfer from R&D to Manufacturing.
• Coordinate Design, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Test and Operations.
• Develop and execute NPI project plans, schedules and risk mitigation.
• Drive DFM, DFA, DFT reviews to optimize manufacturability and testability.
• Manage prototype builds, pilot runs, and ramp-to-production.
• Define and validate manufacturing processes, test strategies, fixtures, and tooling.
• Lead BOM reviews, FMEAs, control plans and work instructions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers for readiness and compliance.
• Identify and resolve yield, quality, and reliability issues during builds.
• Support cost reduction, scalability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor NPI and manufacturing engineers.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
