We are seeking a Senior NPI Engineer with 5+ years of experience in New Product Introduction and manufacturing engineering to lead the industrialization, validation, and successful launch of new products and manufacturing processes.
This role is responsible for driving manufacturing readiness from design handoff through qualification, production ramp-up, and handover to Operations, ensuring that new products meet quality, cost, capacity, and schedule requirements.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with strong experience in manufacturing processes, process validation, problem solving, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced global manufacturing environmen.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from design handoff through manufacturing qualification, production ramp-up, and handover to Operations.
- 2. Drive manufacturing readiness, ensuring equipment, tooling, fixtures, documentation, materials, quality controls, and resources are ready to support product launch.
- 3. Collaborate closely with Product Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Manufacturing, Materials, Automation, Test Engineering, and Operations.
- 4. Review product designs and technical requirements to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and production readiness.
- 5. Develop and maintain NPI project plans, milestones, risks, action trackers, and deliverables to ensure execution against committed timelines.
- 6. Lead and execute PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan, IQ/OQ/PQ, capability studies, MSA/Gage R&R, pilot builds, PVT, and First Article Inspection (FAI) activities.
- 7. Define and validate manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures, test methods, and inspection requirements.
- 8. Identify manufacturing risks and drive corrective actions, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- 9. Support process capability, yield, cycle time, OEE, quality, and cost improvement initiatives during qualification and ramp-up.
- 10. Coordinate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure equipment, tooling, material, and process readiness.
- 11. Lead technical knowledge transfer and manufacturing process transfers between global manufacturing sites when required.
- 12. Own and maintain key manufacturing documentation, including Process Flow, Standard Operating Procedures/Work Instructions, PFMEA, Control Plan, qualification reports, and Product History Records.
- 13. Provide technical leadership and guidance to NPI Engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams during product launches.
- 14. Communicate project status, risks, recovery plans, and escalations effectively to engineering and management teams.
