G&W Electric Co. is seeking an Engineering Documentation Coordinator to support manufacturing operations by managing engineering documentation, BOMs, and ECN/DCN processes.

The role links Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure accurate product information and efficient production. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years in manufacturing, experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards, SAP), and CAD tools (Creo/SolidWorks).

Formación

• Preferred education: Technician in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: One to two years in manufacturing; electrical-equipment manufacturing or related industrial environment preferred.
• ERP systems experience (JD Edwards, SAP) including BOMs and part-number maintenance.
• CAD experience with Creo or SolidWorks; ability to work with DXF, IGES, DWG files.
• Knowledge of ECNs, DCNs, document control, traceability, and change implementation in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with CAM software, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
• Continuous-improvement methods: Lean, Six Sigma, structured problem-solving.

Responsabilidades

• Release orders to Manufacturing and support daily order-processing activities.
• Upload and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) from Engineering and CAD data.
• Enter and maintain drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams in ERP or document-control systems.
• Support Supply Chain with part-number updates and material changes.
• Create and maintain product documentation, labels, and manufacturing records.
• Provide electronic drawings and CAD files (DXF, IGES, DWG) to internal departments and global facilities.
• Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Drawing Change Notices (DCNs) and BOM updates.
• Coordinate implementation of engineering changes across manufacturing operations.
• Maintain ECN documentation and related databases or tracking tools.
• Support standardization, legacy-part replacement, and engineering-documentation updates.
• Assist mechanical and electrical engineers in Production Engineering as needed.

Reporting to the Engineering Leader , this position supports manufacturing operations through the effective management of engineering documentation, engineering changes, technical issue resolution, and continuous-improvement initiatives. It serves as a key link among Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Application Engineering, and other internal functions to ensure accurate product information, timely order processing, and efficient production processes. The role combines BOM and ERP maintenance, ECN implementation, and document control with hands-on shop-floor support, root-cause analysis, and process improvement.

Activities

• Engineering documentation and ERP support: Release orders to Manufacturing and support daily order-processing activities.
• Upload and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) from Engineering and CAD data, including upper-level and lower-level drawings as required.
• Enter and maintain drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation in the ERP or applicable document-control systems.
• Support Supply Chain with part-number updates, material changes, type updates, and engineering-related ERP maintenance.
• Create and maintain product documentation, labels, marking files, and supporting manufacturing records.
• Provide electronic drawings and CAD files, including DXF, IGES, or DWG formats, to internal departments and global facilities as required.
• Engineering change management: Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Drawing Change Notices (DCNs), including BOM updates and verification of implementation accuracy.
• Coordinate implementation of engineering changes across manufacturing operations and communicate changes to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Maintain engineering-change records, ECN documentation, and related databases or tracking tools.
• Support standardization activities, legacy-part replacement initiatives, and engineering-documentation updates.
• Support mechanical and electrical engineers in Production Engineering as needed.

• Preferred education: Technician in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: One to two years in manufacturing; experience in electrical-equipment manufacturing or a related industrial environment is preferred.
• ERP: Experience with J.D. Edwards, SAP, or equivalent platforms, including entry and maintenance of BOMs, part numbers, and technical data.
• CAD: Experience with Creo, SolidWorks, or other CAD software and the ability to work with DXF, IGES, and DWG files.
• Engineering changes: Knowledge of ECNs, DCNs, document control, traceability, and change implementation in manufacturing.
• Technical knowledge: Ability to interpret electrical schematics and engineering documentation; familiarity with CAM software, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
• Continuous improvement: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous-improvement methods, root-cause analysis, and structured problem-solving strategies.
