Cardinal Health, Inc. seeks an Occupational Health Physician to provide medical support for work-related injuries and illnesses in a manufacturing setting. The role coordinates with EHS and other plant departments to ensure container safety, wellness initiatives, and compliant health practices onsite.

The physician will evaluate and treat on-site illnesses, manage cases, coordinate return-to-work recommendations, and communicate with employees and stakeholders in English as needed.

Formación

  • 4-8 years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal), preferred
  • Experience collaborating with Production, EHS, HR, and cross-functional plant teams
  • Knowledge of occupational health regulations and ISO 45001 standards
  • Experience managing occupational accidents, work-related illnesses, and employee medical evaluations
  • Medical Degree (MD) with authorization to practice medicine in Mexico, required
  • 4-8 years of Occupational Health or Industrial Medicine experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred

What Occupational Health contributes to Cardinal Health

Environmental Health & Safety manages programs to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments. This function conducts regular audits, responds to incidents and investigates root causes, and implements trainings and corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence of problems. This function also manages relationships with regulatory and community stakeholders.

The Occupational Health Physician serves as a key partner to manufacturing, production, and cross-functional teams, providing medical support for occupational injuries and illnesses. This role is responsible for evaluating and treating work-related accidents, managing occupational health cases, coordinating return-to-work recommendations, and promoting employee wellness within the manufacturing environment. The physician also collaborates closely with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to ensure compliance with occupational health regulations and ISO 45001 standards, supports incident investigations, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that promote a safe and healthy workplace. Additionally, the role provides medical attention and clinical guidance for employees who become ill while on-site and communicates effectively with employees and stakeholders in English when required.

Occupational Health works to prevent, investigate and treat workplace-related illnesses and injuries. Occupational Health is responsible for providing first aid, evaluating an employee’s health and providing initial diagnosis on medical conditions, maintaining employee health records, as well as appraising the safety and health hazards in the work environment.

Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal), preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with Production, EHS, HR, and cross-functional plant teams.
  • Knowledge of occupational health regulations and ISO 45001 standards.
