Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Mexicali for Global Environment, supporting NPD, VAVE and improvement projects. You will work on concept design, CAD modelling (SolidWorks & CREO), BOM structures and CO/ECN process, and produce part/assembly packages with drawings.

Ability to work independently and follow the organization’s PM processes is essential. This role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and 1–3 years of SolidWorks experience in sheet metal; PLM tools

Brief Job Description:

To work in Global Environment for Design Engineering support activities for New Product development, VAVE and Improvement projects.
To Work on projects/assignments (short or long term) such as on Concept design, NPD, Bills of Materials, CAD Modelling & its detailing (using Solidworks & CREO Tools) & Change Orders to maintain desired quality levels set by organization.
Work on design and developments of part/assembly & Provide design packages including 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and BOM structures.
Must also be able to work independently with little guidance.
Adherence to project management process set by organization.

Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time investment Needed on Each:

( This will describe the overall core responsibilities of the role, decision making responsibilities etc.)
1.Minimum Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering with relevant exposure to design environment.
2.1-3 years of experience on Solidworks or similar CAD platform in Sheet metal domain is a must.
3.Must have good working experience in 3D modelling and detailing work on Solidworks or similar CAD with experience on generating Bills of Materials. Should also possess relevant experience and understanding of CO or ECN process.
4.Working experience on any PLM tools. Agile or PD cloud will be added advantage.
5.Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication process will be an added advantage.
6.Experience on telecom/electrical enclosure design is added advantage.
7.Good Interpersonal skills & ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
8.Self-motivated, disciplined, passionate, Willingness to learn and organized.
9.Experience in handling large CAD assemblies in SOLIDWORKS or similar CAD and managing modifications as required.
10.Working experience on External Simplified representation will be an added advantage.
