Formación

  • 2+ years of experience in Packing Material Quality or Incoming Material Inspection.
  • Degree in Industrial, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering required.

Material Quality Engineer
Location: Guadalajara, Mx


PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Identify opportunities for improvement for Materials, Quality and Delivery KPIs, productivities or processes related to Quality Operations focused on Materials, executing the action plans while keeping stakeholders informed.


Manage special projects and initiatives related to improvement or optimization of processes/products related to direct materials Quality.


ACCOUNTABILITIES


  1. Materials and Process Performance
    Perform the RPN analysis for Material Quality Flags, per month & per Quarter, prioritizing the main losses, and eliminate them with collaboration of the suppliers and Supplier Development team (for regional suppliers).
  2. Manufacturing on floor support
    Provide on floor support on problem solving related to material non-conformities with characterization of defects to give feedback to suppliers, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing and evaluating the actions' effectiveness.
  3. Material management
    Perform material tests according to stakeholders' requirements such as new material qualification, changes on current materials, new materials for the factory already qualified by another PMI production center, in order to validate that the materials are in compliance with PMI requirements and factory performance. Provide the reports to the stakeholders for the tests performed. Identify opportunities for improvement in materials, products and material portfolio optimization on floor.
  4. Supplier Development Support
    Provide the information from trial execution related to suppliers' performance on quality, deliveries and timings. Participate in gap assessment on vendors' site (on demand), support in the development of improvement plan, monitor the implementation and evaluate the effectiveness. Lead Quality Services projects related to non-conform materials that the rejections are not being accepted by the supplier. Lead Root Cause Analysis to eliminate current issues in material quality. Optimize or define new specifications to improve material performance.
  5. Project Lead
    Lead special projects or initiatives related to Quality, performing a risk assessment and feasibility, and implementation of tasks, ensuring success criteria are accomplished.

EDUCATION
- Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical Engineer or equivalent


WORK EXPERIENCE
- Overall experience: > 2 years in Packing Material Quality or Packing Supplier Quality, or Incoming Material Inspection
