PHINIA Inc. is seeking a Materials Planner in San Luis Potosí to guarantee on-time material coverage and optimal inventory levels. The role requires 2+ years in planning, strong knowledge of MRP processes, and proficiency with SAP and MS Office.

You will work with procurement, production, and logistics to avoid shortages and support continuous improvement. The successful candidate will maintain data accuracy in the SAP system, monitor supplier performance, and generate actionable reports on

  • Knowledge in MRP process and planning environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration.

JOB PURPOSE

Guarantee in quantity and time the coverage of Raw Material ROH and Purchased Parts FG in PHINIA considering the firm demand and the volumes reflected in the Sales Forecasts in the SAP system, as well as guarantee the optimal level of inventory in plant based on the policies defined by the origin of the materials in order to achieve the objectives of the inventory turns.

  • Sending raleases with firm orders on a weekly basis according to the defined date, ensuring receipt of raleases by the supplier and monitoring the delivery of materials (EDI, SWP supplier portal, Mail PFD), List in Excel with date of dispatch.
  • Supplier follow‑up if orders are in backlog, responsible for requesting expedited supplier and backlog recovery plan.
  • Responsible for evaluating suppliers on a monthly basis, as well as issuing the result to the Supplier Performance System (SPS), as well as the actions to be taken with low performance suppliers.
  • Responsible for generating logistical complaints and cost recovery in conjunction with the GSM area in the CPM system (Low shipment, incorrect labelling, damage, etc.) Generate graphic with the detail.
  • Responsible for tracking supplier shipments (sea, land and expedited transits). Assurance of SS in accordance with origin policies. Generation of file with updates and fortnightly status of the anomalies that arise.
  • Generation of material coverage.
  • It is the responsibility of the materials planner to ensure on time delivery on the production line by following up with the different support areas and reporting any problems that may cause any delays in the delivery of parts (e.g. engineering changes, material inspections, etc).
  • Responsible for reporting material shortages on time according to the origin of the materials and/or upon receipt of a force majeure notification from the supplier, following up on the same and involving the necessary departments for support.
  • Responsible for generating requests for a planning issue for the review of alternate materials to the engineering team through a REF or PAA for validation and follow up approvals if required.
  • Effective communication with material scheduling area to ensure 0 changes in production schedule due to material shortages.
  • Responsible for tracking inventory level on monthly basis according to defined target: Overseas ≤ 21DOH, USMCA ≤ 7DOH, Local ≤ 5 DOH based on Origin and criticality policies approved with Sr. Manager PC&L without risk to production plan.
  • Responsible for maintaining an Inventory turnover ≥ 6.3 turns per month.
  • Monthly analysis of numbers outside of inventory targets in accordance with defined policy. Delivery of Excel file with details and action plans.
  • Responsible for generating expediting request if necessary with PFA analysis and follow up with approvers, as well as keeping expediting cost within the target of ≤ 0.20% per month. Chart generation.
  • Responsible for keeping SAP system clean with current information for correct generation of raleases to supplier, transit times.
  • Review of safety stocks and update according to policy and demand. Generation of file with updates according to the defined frequency.
  • Responsible for tracking materials according to coverage and shipment dates for new launches and engineering changes to ensure break points.
  • Follow up on supplier discrepancy reports.
  • Follow up on all issues that may cause any stoppage in supplier shipments e.g. non‑payment of invoices, if there are any reports from suppliers of price adjustments etc.
  • Develop plans and strategies with the logistics department to improve deliveries and reduce costs.
  • Promote improvement ideas within and outside the department to support continuous improvement.
  • Participation in the Annual Physical Inventory.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Grade: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Time in similar position: 2 years of planning experience.
  • Technical knowledge required: Knowledge in MRP process and planning environment, Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing process and supply chain.
