Job summary

Marelli Electronics is seeking a Materials Planner to join the Supply Chain and Logistics team at the Aguascalientes plant. The role focuses on ensuring a steady flow of materials for production, coordinating with suppliers, and optimizing inventory levels.

You will work closely with production teams to forecast needs, manage schedules, and maintain cost objectives while using ERP/MRP systems to keep accurate records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• Proven experience as Materials Planner in electronics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage material planning to support production schedules.
• Analyze forecasts and orders to create purchasing/production plans.
• Coordinate with suppliers for timely material delivery and resolve supply issues.
• Monitor inventory, conduct audits, and prevent shortages or excess.
• Collaborate with production, procurement and logistics to optimize flow.
• Use ERP/MRP to maintain orders, inventory and schedules.
• Review safety stock, lead time, and reorder points.

About the Position:

We are looking for a Materials Planner to join the Supply Chain and Logistics team for the Electronics Plant, reporting directly to the SCM Manager.

This position is based at our plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

As a Materials Planner at Marelli, you will be responsible for ensuring a steady flow of materials required for the production processes at our Electronics plant. This role involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating materials to optimize production efficiency while maintaining quality and cost objectives. The Materials Planner will work closely with suppliers, production teams, and other stakeholders to forecast needs and manage inventory levels, ensuring on-time production and delivery.

Your Responsibilities will be:

• Develop, implement, and manage material planning processes and strategies to support production schedules.
• Analyze demand forecasts and customer orders to create purchasing and production plans.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues related to supply chain disruptions.
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and initiate necessary actions to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to optimize workflow and improve material flow and efficiency.
• Use ERP/MRP systems to maintain accurate records of orders, inventory, and production schedules.
• Conduct regular reviews and updates of material planning parameters, such as safety stock, lead time, and reorder points.

What Qualifications you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Materials Planner or in a similar role within an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• SAP proficiency.
• Conversational English level.

Other skills that we would welcome:

• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
  Supply Chain certification.
• Experience with electronics suppliers is a must.
