American International Group (AIG) is seeking an Underwriting Manager to lead Marine Reinsurance underwriting for the Latin America and Caribbean region. You will manage a team, develop new business opportunities, and collaborate with regional peers to maintain a consistent market approach.

The role requires deep marine underwriting knowledge, strong analytical and relationship-building skills, and the ability to travel up to 40%.

Formación

• Experience in the marine insurance or Reinsurance market.
• Advanced working knowledge of Marine business including product features, forms, regulatory environments and risks.
• Ability to rapidly evaluate, prioritize and select submissions to be underwritten.
• Ability to analyze policy wordings.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current market conditions and trends.

Responsabilidades

• Underwrite and manage an existing book of Marine Reinsurance risks and develop a pipeline of new business opportunities across LAC.
• Manage a team of underwriting professionals.
• Collaborate with peers in other regions and provide technical underwriting support on existing accounts.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients.
• Communicate our value proposition with brokers and clients and demonstrate our right to win.
• Identify future industry trends and develop strategies around them.
• Communicate portfolio profitability to internal stakeholders.
• Provide superior customer service to brokers and clients.
• Attend client/broker meetings and industry events on behalf of the company.
