Job summary

SBM Offshore in Tampico, Mexico seeks a Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain Engine Room systems, perform basic welding, machining, fitting and related tasks to ensure safe offshore operations.

You will follow PTW risk assessments, execute preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor pollution controls, and participate in emergency drills. Prior offshore watchkeeping experience and STCW certs are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine room watchkeeping and general marine maintenance.
• Proficient in overhead fitting, welding and tooling operations.
• STCW qualifications as required for offshore engine room work.

Responsibilities

• Operate Engine Room equipment and systems and utilities.
• Prepare spaces for start-up and shutdown of machinery.
• Start, monitor and control Engine Room systems.
• Perform scheduled and unplanned maintenance safely per PTW guidelines.
• Follow operational and safety procedures in all tasks.
• Demonstrate Emergency Response readiness through drills.
