Cummins Inc. in Mexico is seeking an entry-level Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to planning, design, purchasing, and implementing changes to manufacturing equipment and systems.

The role emphasizes Lean methods, workstation design, and continuous improvement to support new line development and process documentation. Qualifications include advanced English, a Bachelor’s in Mechanics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering, and hands-on machining experience.

Formación

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Experience supporting new line development and implementation.
• Experience developing and updating standard work instructions and documentation.
• Knowledge of safety, quality, ergonomics, and efficiency requirements within manufacturing environments.
• Experience with workstation design and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong project management and follow-up skills, including tracking part numbers, materials, tooling, lubricants, and other production requirements.
• Ability to coordinate and follow up with internal customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong operational understanding of Value Stream Mapping (VSM), including material flow, process flow, quality points, inputs/outputs, and value-added activities.
• Ability to identify opportunities for improvement through Ishikawa, Pareto, 5 Why, VSM, and other Lean Manufacturing tools.
• Experience translating process analysis into Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
• Proactive, analytical, and hands-on approach to identifying and solving manufacturing issues.
• Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing/production environment and collaborate closely with operations.
• Advanced English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering or related.
• Strong experience in machining is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assists with the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and productspecifications are met.
• Contributes by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improvemanufacturing equipment and processes. Assists with the development of manufacturing standards and working methods by using continuous improvement tools.
• Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments. Learns the knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.
