Sanmina Mexico seeks a Plant Operations Director to direct development and implementation of fabrication activities to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. You will optimize punching, bending, roll forming, welding, painting, and secondary processes and translate Plant Management’s strategy into measurable tactical results.

Lead large multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets and CapEx, and apply Lean/Six Sigma (5S, SMED, Kaizen) to raise efficiency, throughput, and overall plant

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced English
• +4 of experience in management roles within high-mix, low-volume metal-mechanic manufacturing plants
• Deep, auditable expertise managing fabrication machinery and processes: bending, punching, roll forming, welding, painting
• Active Black Belt or Green Belt Certification in Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing
• Strong leadership and experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams
• Urgency, resilience, and strong decision-making under pressure with a results-driven mindset
• Ability to bridge operational efficiency, headcount, and scrap metrics to P&L impact

Responsabilidades

• Take full strategic responsibility for the entire manufacturing operation
• Expertly prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply
• Plan, administer, and develop procedures and budgets; make budgetary recommendations and control CapEx and labor costs
• Develop schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas, ensuring optimal alignment with production volume
• Eliminate bottlenecks between cutting and forming to guarantee lean flow toward assembly or painting
• Deploy Lean Manufacturing methodologies (5S, SMED, Kaizen) to elevate global competitiveness
• Manage all team activities, staffing, training, development, and performance management
• Validate manufacturing feasibility (Design for Manufactur ing - DFM) of new projects before production
• Manage KPIs

Your main mission will be to direct the development and implementation of activities in the production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. You will direct and fully optimize all operations within the Fabrication area (including punching, bending, roll forming, welding, painting, and secondary operations). You will serve as the key bridge to translate Plant Management’s strategy into measurable tactical results, ensuring operational efficiency, process scalability, and the perfect alignment of human and technological resources.

Responsibilities

• Take full strategic responsibility for the entire manufacturing operation
• Expertly prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply
• Plan, administer, and develop procedures and budgets. You will make budgetary recommendations regarding—and directly control—capital expenditures (CapEx) as well as direct and indirect labor costs
• Develop schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas, ensuring optimal alignment with production volume
• Systematically eliminate bottlenecks between the cutting and forming departments to guarantee a continuous, lean flow toward assembly or painting
• Institutionally deploy Lean Manufacturing methodologies (5S, SMED for quick tool changes, Kaizen) to elevate the plant's global competitiveness
• Manage all team activities, making staffing decisions, providing training and development, and overseeing performance management
• Validate the manufacturing feasibility (Design for Manufacturin g - DFM) of new projects before they ever hit the production floor
• Manage KPIs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
• Advanced English
• +4 of experience in management roles within high-mix, low-volume metal-mechanic manufacturing plants
• Mandatory Technical Domain: Deep, auditable expertise managing fabrication machinery and processes, specifically: bending, punching, roll forming, welding, and painting
• Methodologies: Active Black Belt or Green Belt Certification in Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing
• Powerful leadership style, strong character, and a solid track record managing large, multidisciplinary teams
• Acute sense of urgency, resilience, exceptional decision-making under pressure, and a results-driven mindset
• Highly developed capability to plan budgets and directly bridge operational efficiency, headcount requirements, and scrap metrics to the plant’s financial bottom line (P&L impact).
