Intuitive Surgical, S. de R.L de C.V. in Mexicali is seeking an experienced Equipment Engineer to coordinate the daily activities of Equipment Technicians and ensure equipment availability for manufacturing. You will lead a team, provide technical guidance, and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, along with over 3 years of relevant experience in the medical or aeronautical industry. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in English are required.

Formación

  • 3+ years of experience as Equipment, Maintenance, or Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Experience in the medical or aeronautical industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with pneumatics, electronics, and hydraulics.

Responsabilidades

  • Coordinate daily activities of Equipment Technicians to ensure production requirements.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of units and resolve downtime situations.
  • Lead and mentor staff in equipment engineering.
  • Repair faulty equipment and document failures.

Descripción del empleo

Primary Function of Position

Coordinate the development of the daily activities of the Equipment Technicians and the availability of spare parts in the Tool Crib warehouse, according to the production requirements and the data analysis performed; to ensure that the equipment is available to perform the manufacturing process, providing improvements that increase efficiency in production equipment. Lead a team of Engineers as well as cross functional teams, providing support in Equipment documentation, validation and criteria; as well as in mechanical, electrical and electronics disciplines.

Essential Job Duties
  • Ensure on time delivery of units, verifying that human resources, equipment and tools are available; to anticipate and resolve downtime situations that may affect compliance with the production plan.
  • Implement and participate in the equipment improvements in response to the recurrences documented in the EE's and analysis of down times.
  • Search for new suppliers validating their effectiveness.
  • Coordinate the distribution of overtime for equipment technicians.
  • Lead and mentor staff in the area of equipment engineering, focused on development, performance and decision making; in order to meet the goals of the organization
  • Provide technical guidance to equipment technicians to purchase spare parts or specialized tools.
  • Monitor the fulfilment of the activities of the Equipment Technicians.
  • Generate the manufacturing results in the expected times using the designated resources, using the established systems and processes; to contribute to the efficiency and profitability of the Company.
  • Verify the status of the equipment of the previous day by analyzing data.
  • Participate in the process of new lines implementation.
  • Repair faulty equipment making the diagnosis for the solution of the failure.
  • Answer notifications of faulty equipment (EE's, Equipment Events) documenting the failure and validation of repairs performed
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • English advanced level, read, written, spoken.
  • Office, advance
  • Agile, CAD intermediate
  • 3 years + of work experience o Equipment, Maintenance or Manufacturing Engineer. o Sr. Engineer or Sr. Project engineer
  • Have worked in the medical or aeronautical industry
  • Engineering drawings reading
  • Use of Measuring Instruments
  • Pneumatics, Electronics and Hydraulics
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Tools for Risk Analysis (5 why's, D's, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis-PFMEA)
  • Personnel Management
  • 5+ years’ work experience Control (PLCs, Servomotors, etc.)
Required Education and Training:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electronics, Mechatronic Engineering or similar.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Master’s degree in control and automatization (desirable)
