Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience and training in similar fields.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• BS of Engineering (any specialty) required.
• Master of Science preferred.
• Knowledge of project management principles and tools.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent English and Spanish communication.
• JJOS/JJPS concepts knowledge desirable; Lean Six Sigma certified preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets the goals and objectives for the Engineering Department in the business unit; align with plant business plan.
• Identifies, plans, and coordinates engineering projects focused on processes, equipment, maintenance, and cost reduction including Lean and Six Sigma.
• Keeps in contact with organizational units involved in technical areas.
• Implements systems to ensure equipment and machinery are in working order and within spec; verifies requirements per production schedules.
• Verifies capital requirements for improvements of production processes.
• Coordinates problem solving within teams to secure minimum costs and avoid delays in launches.
• Identifies improvements and replacement of machinery/equipment as needed.
• Coordinates implementation of improvement projects on process capability and defect prevention.
• Responsible for equipment and process validation in the Business Unit.
• Verifies and approves process specifications and manufacturing changes.
• Complies with Quality, Laws and Regulations applicable to the market and Company health, safety, and environmental policies.
