Flex is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Tijuana site to support scalable product manufacturing. You will plan, direct, and improve processes, collaborate with engineering teams, and ensure cost-effective production of high‑quality products.

You will coordinate with maintenance, QA, and operations to optimize layouts, define equipment needs, and implement process improvements and PFMEA updates as part of the lifecycle.

• Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Able to run and explain simulations.
• Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to achieve objectives.

• Provide management with technical cost perspectives.
• Discuss manufacturing capabilities and schedules with management.
• Apply statistical methods to estimate future requirements.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer\u201D will be based in Tijuana, reporting to Manufacturing Engineer Manager.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager, Manufacturing Engineer role is to Plan, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes by providing technical support maintenance of manufacturing methods by performing the following duties in the manufacturing phase of the product lifecycle.

What a typical day looks like:

• Understand manufacturing and test equipment concepts, technologies and techniques
• Designs manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters.
• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
• Define equipment maintenance requirements, identify root‑causes of equipment failures and develop hands‑on maintenance skills Work with other engineering stakeholders and customers on problem solving and continuous improvement to the design of equipment and products and may develop corrective and preventive action plans
• May be involved in development and and update of PFMEA for new products
• May participate in control plan development
• Write and update work instructions and other documents (e.g. specifications, procedures,…)
• Analyzes and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Confers with production group concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
• Coordinates with customers to determine product specifications and design changes and responds to customer request.
• Provides information for management decisions from a technical and technical cost perspective.
• Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Able to run and explain simulations.
• Impacts immediate (daily or weekly) operations of the team or functional area. Executes and may provide input to functional processes or technologies. Assists in achieving section/sub‑function objectives for a functional area. Demonstrates commitment to implement initiatives.
• Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to achieve objectives; may make decisions absent management supervision using broad guidelines.
• Normally receives general instructions on routine work but can work independently, and in some cases may supervise/ oversee others. Identifies own development needs and works toward them. Demonstrates Flex values.
