Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc (CVG) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to manage purchasing systems and lead continuous improvement projects across production processes. The role focuses on promoting a disciplined operational culture and developing improvement strategies aligned with business objectives.

The position requires cross-functional collaboration to plan, execute, and sustain process improvements, with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental standards.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering is required.
  • Automotive/Aerospace Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in operations management is required.
  • Blueprint interpretation is required.
  • Use of measuring instruments is required.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge of IATF standards.
  • Knowledge of Core Tools.
  • Lean project evaluation.
  • Project management skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Study the requirements of each production process and determine the most efficient operations.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes.
  • Develop effective automated and non-automated systems.
  • Test existing or new production procedures.
  • Support the implementation of manufacturing processes that result in high-quality products.
  • Apply knowledge of tooling design and manufacturing methods.
  • Demonstrate project management ability and adhere to safety/environmental standards.
  • Ensure production lines operate efficiently to meet customer requirements.
  • Evaluate processes by quality criteria such as efficiency and speed.
  • Study machinery and production requirements.
  • Identify ways to reduce costs and maximize quality.
  • Train personnel in current and new processes.
  • Ensure processes comply with safety/environmental regulations.
  • Update systems and processes with new technology.
  • Manage Oracle systems.
  • Interpret customer drawings and specs.

Summary

Key Responsibilities and Main Activities
  • The main responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer include studying the requirements of each production process and product, as well as determining the most efficient operations according to those requirements.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes.
  • Develop effective automated and non-automated systems.
  • Test existing or new production procedures.
  • Support the implementation of manufacturing processes that result in high-quality products.
  • Apply knowledge of tooling design and manufacturing methods.
  • Demonstrate project management ability, quality commitment, and familiarity with safety and environmental standards (environmental analysis).
  • Ensure production lines operate efficiently and effectively to meet customer requirements.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes according to quality criteria such as efficiency and speed.
  • Study machinery and production requirements.
  • Identify ways to reduce costs and maximize quality.
  • Train personnel in both current and new processes.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Update systems and processes with new technology.
  • Manage Oracle systems.
  • Interpret customer drawings and specification requirements.
  • Verify circuit dimensions during first-piece production.
  • Verify material quantities in the Oracle system against customer drawings.
  • Knowledge of harness manufacturing from wire stamping to final inspection.
  • Create production operation documentation and implement process improvements.
  • Review board drawings against blueprints.
  • Design FMEAs.
  • Analyze and design instructions and manuals for new machinery or equipment prior to production launch and use.
Experience / Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering required.
  • Automotive/Aerospace Manufactuing
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in operations management.
  • Blueprint interpretation.
  • Use of measuring instruments.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge of IATF standards.
  • Knowledge of Core Tools.
  • Lean project evaluation.
  • Project management skills.
Verbal Skills
  • Intermediate English proficiency.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues across the organization.
  • Ability to prepare reports and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to employee questions.
Mathematical Skills
  • Mathematical ability to calculate efficiency, consumption, response times, capacity, cycle times, financial metrics, etc.
  • Mathematical skills for problem-solving and data analysis.
Reasoning Ability
  • Strong deductive reasoning skills.
  • Ability to organize thoughts and priorities under considerable pressure.
  • Capable of reasoning and solving problems based on technical understanding of needs and procedures.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions and address both abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD.
