The Clorox Company in Mexico is seeking a Lease Accounting Manager to lead global lease portfolio accounting and reporting. The role focuses on ensuring proper lease identification, classification, and controls across the organization.

You will own end-to-end Record-to-Report metrics, oversee the GBS Automation Team, and guide the Lease Accounting Team, with a hybrid work arrangement and collaboration with cross-functional partners.

Formación

  • 6 years of accounting experience.
  • Advanced English required.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Leadership and project management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.

  • People management experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead lease accounting and reporting for global portfolio.

Your role at Clorox:

This role will be responsable for leading the lease accounting and reporting activities for the Company’s global lease portfolio. This includes ensuring the processes and controls around the identification of new leases are appropriate, analyzing contracts for the proper lease accounting treatment, overseeing the monthly and quarterly close processes, partnering with GSS and CREWS on process and controls, and providing support and oversight for the assistant manager and senior accountant.

In this role, you will:
Analyze GSS contracts and ensure completeness
  • Complete lease identification and classification for all supplier contracts with potential leases
  • Cross-functional communication/coordination of lease requirements (i.e. ensuring GSS or buyers structure, IT Procurement following the global process)
  • Identify and evaluate lease modifications, lease impairments and other changes for leases
Internal Controls
  • Ensure internal controls around lease accounting are im place and operating effectively
  • Partner with GSS on control remediation as needed
  • Prepare quarterly scorecard reviews and lead meeting/discussions with GSS
  • Lead quarterly Balance Sheet analytic meeting
  • Lead preparation of quarterly PO certification and communication of I/C exceptions to FRC and leadership
  • Ensure process and I/C documentation is complete and accurate
Accounting and Reporting Processes
  • Own and monitor end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) performance metrics, partnering across GBS and cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and adherence to established SLAs and KPIs. Act as a trusted business partner who can effectively influence stakeholders and drive results beyond direct reporting relationships.
  • Provide oversight and leadership for the GBS Automation Team, including regular coaching, guidance, and support of automation projects. Serve as the primary representative for automation initiatives by communicating successes, showcasing business impact, sharing best practices, and promoting adoption of automation solutions across Finance, GBS, and key stakeholder groups.
  • Oversee Month/Quarter end close activities
  • Provide guidance to Lease Accounting Team
  • Review account reconciliations, long term rollforward schedules and annual footnote disclosure
  • Lead resolution of close issues
  • Review lease assessment conclusions and ensure reflected properly in CoStar
  • Ownership of accounting policies
Manage one direct report (a people manager).
  • Provide oversight, guidance, coaching and development
