Carl Zeiss Visión Manufactura de México, S. de R.L. de C.V. is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations in a dynamic facility in Mexico. You will coordinate personnel, equipment, and materials to meet schedules, quality standards, productivity targets, and cost objectives.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong problem-solving abilities, and a focus on continuous improvement through Lean and 5S methodologies to optimize overall performance and safety.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in production supervision in manufacturing.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement tools.
• Experience monitoring KPIs, downtime, productivity, and efficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and coordinate production personnel to meet schedules and targets.
• Ensure compliance with quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost standards.
• Monitor KPIs, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze downtime and equipment failures, addressing root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Manage resources (personnel, materials, machinery, equipment) in the production area.
• Coordinate line start-ups, operations, and shutdowns for continuity and efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Promote health and safety, PPE, and risk prevention practices.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives, Lean, and 5S practices.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Materials to resolve issues.

Supervise and manage daily production operations by efficiently coordinating personnel, equipment, machinery, and materials to ensure compliance with production schedules, quality standards, productivity targets, and cost objectives.

1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of production personnel, ensuring compliance with production schedules and operational targets.
2. Ensure compliance with established quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost standards.
3. Monitor production performance indicators (KPIs), identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to achieve expected results.
4. Analyze and follow up on downtime, equipment failures, and production process deviations, implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
5. Efficiently manage human resources, materials, machinery, and equipment assigned to the production area.
6. Coordinate production line start-ups, operations, and shutdowns, ensuring process continuity and operational efficiency.
7. Ensure compliance with operating procedures, work instructions, and established quality standards.
8. Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, promoting the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and risk prevention practices.
9. Implement and monitor continuous improvement initiatives, Lean Manufacturing tools, and 5S practices to optimize production processes.
10. Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Materials departments to resolve issues that may impact production operations.
11. Conduct regular production area audits to verify compliance with operational, quality, safety, and workplace organization standards.
12. Manage assigned personnel, including attendance, employee records, vacation schedules, payroll-related information, and training needs.
13. Evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and promote the development of team skills and competencies.
14. Communicate production results, operational issues, and action plans to management in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in production supervision within the manufacturing industry.
• Proven experience managing and supervising production personnel.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and operational control.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies, 5S, and continuous improvement tools.
• Knowledge of quality standards, occupational health and safety regulations, and production procedures.
• Experience monitoring and analyzing production KPIs, downtime, productivity, and efficiency.
• Ability to identify operational issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Availability to work rotating shifts, according to operational requirements.
