Summary

Ensure continuity of operations and production quality through the proper execution of equipment maintenance and facility support activities, maintaining safe operating conditions and having the authority to stop processes in the event risks or nonconformities are identified.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
  • Ensure customer and interested-party satisfaction by using strategic planning and a results-oriented approach in safeguarding, utilizing, and managing equipment, resources, and personnel assigned to Maintenance.
  • Responsible for coordinating Maintenance Technicians.
  • Responsible for maintaining plant equipment, including preventive maintenance and installation of new equipment.
  • Responsible for systematic and timely maintenance throughout the plant.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment within the maintenance department work area; clean promptly after maintenance and repair work is completed within the facility.
  • Supervise and direct all maintenance department employees, including discipline and performance reviews.
  • Must have the ability to report to work on time, follow instructions, interact effectively with coworkers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
  • Assist with analytical troubleshooting to maintain equipment, facilities, and vehicles.
  • Accurately record and document all completed maintenance activities, modifications, and repairs.
  • Maintain copies of manuals and drawings in a neat and organized manner; provide updated information to others as necessary.
  • Perform company errands and obtain equipment, materials, and supplies as needed.
  • Make recommendations for changes that would help the facility achieve efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts.
  • Must have the ability to report to work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with coworkers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
  • Responsible for ensuring and demonstrating continuous improvement in organizational performance based on Safety, Cost, and Quality.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental resources and efforts required to meet Maintenance Assurance requirements.
  • Identify training needs and train Maintenance personnel regarding the Quality/Safety Management System and Equipment.
  • Responsible for promoting Improvement Ideas within the Maintenance team.
  • Set an example of commitment to achieving Quality Indicators. (Safety – Product – Process – QMS – EMS).
  • Establish standards to implement and promote 5S practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring and coordinating interdepartmental efforts required for the care of infrastructure, equipment, customer property, and documented information.
  • Responsible for safeguarding, managing, and controlling the spare parts warehouse.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of plant utilities, including electrical power, compressed air, water, gas, etc.
  • Follow up on infrastructure failures and coordinate prompt corrective actions to ensure operational continuity.
  • Manage and approve work permits for maintenance or utility service providers, ensuring compliance with established safety conditions.
  • Document and maintain work permits in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • Coordinate external suppliers for facility maintenance services.
  • Apply basic safety practices in maintenance activities.
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Support incident investigations and follow-up of corrective actions.
  • Comply with company-established safety guidelines.
Qualifications

Education

Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.

Experience

3–5 years in Maintenance.

Language And Level

English; able to interact with management and leadership and participate in customer conference calls.

Position Capabilities
  • Able to generate and follow procedures and instructions to meet objectives and technical process/product specifications.
  • Able to follow up on technical information.
  • Able to manage the spare parts warehouse.
  • Able to develop and update a maintenance plan according to maintenance results.

Specific Technical Process Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of metallurgy.
  • Knowledge of IATF / ISO 9001 / ISO 14000.
  • Knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, among others.
  • Basic knowledge of plant utility operation and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety and PPE usage.
  • Basic knowledge of safety practices applicable to maintenance.

  • Able to be exposed to temperatures, vapors, noise, humidity, etc.
  • Able to observe, read documents, view monitors and screens, etc.
  • Able to hear in person and by telephone.
Mental Capabilities
  • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Possess the cognitive ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
