Bodycote plc is seeking a Production Supervisor to ensure production runs are compliant with quality requirements and management objectives. The role has authority to stop production when risks or nonconformities are identified, and requires coordinating supervisors, promoting Lean methods, and driving continuous improvement.

Summary: Ensure production is carried out in compliance with quality requirements and management objectives, with the authority to stop production processes whenever risks or nonconformities are identified.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):
  • Monitor production schedules assigned by the Production Manager, focusing on the effective utilization of equipment, resources, and personnel assigned to production.
  • Coordinate the activities of Production Supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with checklists, visual aids, and standardized work instructions. Notify management of any deviations or required changes to these standards.
  • Lead, promote, and communicate international, corporate, customer, and internal Quality Management policies, as well as any related updates.
  • Lead, promote, and communicate international, corporate, customer, and internal Health and Safety policies, as well as any related updates.
  • Ensure compliance with production and production control procedures, and report results to the Production Manager.
  • Foster communication and actively participate with leadership during Safety, Quality, and Productivity meetings.
  • Ensure and demonstrate continuous improvement in organizational performance with respect to safety, cost, and quality.
  • Coordinate operational resources and efforts required to ensure production requirements are met on time and with the expected quality standards.
  • Identify training needs and provide standardized work training to production personnel.
  • Promote continuous improvement ideas within the Production team.
  • Lead by example in achieving Quality Indicators (Safety – Product – Process – Quality Management System (QMS) – Environmental Management System (EMS)).
  • Establish standards for implementing and promoting the 5S methodology.
  • Ensure and coordinate efforts to protect company infrastructure, equipment, customer property, and documented information.
  • Promote and maintain positive morale among production teams.
  • Provide coverage for Team Leader absences when required.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing process control.

Language Requirements: Not required.

Job Competencies:
  • Ability to develop work instructions, checklists, and visual aids.
  • Ability to train production personnel.
  • Ability to apply Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications.
Technical Knowledge:
  • Basic knowledge of Metallurgy.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in both seated and standing positions for extended periods in an office and industrial environment.
  • Ability to enter data using computer equipment.
  • Ability to bend, pull, push, reach, and perform other routine physical movements.
  • Ability to lift between 10 and 25 kilograms (22–55 pounds).
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, vapors, noise, humidity, and similar industrial conditions.
  • Ability to read documents, view computer monitors and displays, and perform visual inspections.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
Mental Requirements:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Cognitive ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
