Dematic is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance function in a high‑volume automated manufacturing environment. You will drive preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, improve equipment reliability, and lead a team of technicians and specialists.

The role requires hands‑on PLC troubleshooting, experience with CNC machinery, and a proven track record of reducing downtime. Strong collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams is essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance function to ensure the reliability, availability, and optimal performance of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role combines strong technical expertise with people leadership, driving preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, equipment reliability, automation improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience in automated manufacturing environments, strong PLC troubleshooting capabilities, and proven experience developing high‑performing maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

• Lead the Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability, reliability, and operational performance.
• Develop and execute maintenance strategies focused on reducing unplanned downtime and improving equipment lifecycle and reliability.
• Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls‑related equipment issues.
• Ensure the proper maintenance and reliable operation of tube cutting equipment, CNC machinery, automated equipment, and other critical manufacturing assets.
• Establish and continuously improve maintenance standards, work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Monitor equipment performance and maintenance KPIs to identify trends, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities.
• Manage spare parts and critical components inventory, balancing equipment availability, lead times, and cost optimization.
• Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize disruption to production schedules.

Controls & Automation

• Provide technical leadership and advanced troubleshooting support for PLC‑controlled equipment and automated manufacturing systems.
• Support PLC programming, troubleshooting, modifications, and optimization as required.
• Partner with Engineering and Production teams to improve automation, equipment performance, cycle times, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Lead or support equipment upgrades, retrofits, commissioning activities, and new equipment installations.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability through controls, automation, and technology enhancements.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and technical specialists.
• Establish clear expectations, priorities, and accountability across the maintenance organization.
• Build technical capabilities within the team through coaching, training, cross‑training, and structured problem‑solving.
• Foster a culture of ownership, urgency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure effective response and escalation processes for equipment breakdowns and critical operational issues.
• Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and other functions to support plant performance and business objectives.

Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure maintenance activities are performed in compliance with company safety standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements, and applicable environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on OEE, equipment reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and downtime reduction.
• Lead and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical equipment failures and ensure sustainable corrective actions are implemented.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Reliability‑Centered Maintenance practices.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure maintenance personnel follow established procedures and standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment, including experience leading maintenance teams.
• Demonstrated experience managing maintenance operations in automated, high‑volume, or complex manufacturing environments.
• Strong technical knowledge and hands‑on experience with:
• PLC systems, including troubleshooting and programming.
• CNC machinery and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Tube cutting equipment or similar industrial machinery.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Preventive and Corrective Maintenance programs.
• Root Cause Analysis and structured problem‑solving.
• Experience managing maintenance KPIs such as equipment downtime, OEE, PM compliance, MTBF, and MTTR.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to prioritize and respond effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Reliability‑Centered Maintenance, or similar methodologies.
• Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, upgrades, and automation projects.
• Knowledge of CMMS or maintenance management systems.
• Experience managing spare parts, maintenance budgets, vendors, and external technical services.
