Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance and engineering in a plant environment in Mexico.

You will align maintenance activities with production goals, lead a safety‑conscious team, and drive reliability improvements across equipment and systems. Responsibilities include developing strategies, managing budgets, coordinating with engineering, and ensuring audits and ISO standards compliance.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance management or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing teams.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with solid understanding of maintenance processes and engineering principles.
• Outstanding communication skills across departments.
• Experience with maintenance management software and relevant engineering tools.
• Experience in Assembly, electrical test, material handling and LOTO.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimize plant efficiency and equipment reliability.
• Supervise and lead the maintenance team, ensuring tasks are completed safely and effectively.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to integrate maintenance with production schedules.
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment and systems.
• Manage budgets and resources, ensuring compliance with financial and operational objectives.
• Provide training and development opportunities for maintenance staff.
• Implement best practices in maintenance management and engineering to improve plant operations.
• Ensure compliance with quality and EHS audits.
• Search and management of maintenance policies and resource optimization.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Achieve KPIs: MTTR and MTBF.
• Support ISO 9000, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.

What will you do?

Oversee the manufacturing engineering and maintenance functions within a plant environment. Ensure that all engineering and maintenance activities align with operational goals and standards, particularly within medium/small-sized plants.
