Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Reynosa, MX, seeks a Maintenance Automation Engineer to support automated manufacturing equipment, improve uptime and reliability, and drive continuous improvement. The role combines hands-on troubleshooting with data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration to optimize performance.

Responsibilities include planning preventive maintenance, addressing automation issues, and partnering with teams to implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Hands-on experience with automated manufacturing equipment in an industrial environment.
Hands-on knowledge of PLCs and HMIs, including Allen-Bradley and Omron.
Experience troubleshooting industrial automation systems including robots, motor drives, sensors and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic diagrams.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance, reliability analysis, root cause problem solving, and continuous improvement tools.
Strong collaboration, technical leadership, and communication skills with a safety mindset.

Responsibilities

Analyze downtime, failures and maintenance history to improve uptime and MTBF/MTTR.
Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities supporting TPM and reliability initiatives.
Troubleshoot and diagnose automation and controls issues involving PLCs, HMIs, motion systems, drivers and robots.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and optimize equipment performance.
