Job summary

Johnson Controls in Apodaca, Mexico, is seeking a Sustaining Engineer to lead shop-floor engineering activities and support the full product lifecycle from launch through end-of-life. You will investigate issues, drive continuous improvement, and implement changes to improve quality, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

The role requires a mechanical/engineering background, strong HVAC knowledge, and experience with sustaining engineering.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical/engineering field with related discipline.
Proficient English for global cross-functional collaboration.
Strong HVAC fundamentals and manufacturing process knowledge.
Experience sustaining engineering and implementing corrective actions.
Analytical, structured problem-solving with data-driven approach.
Experience with technical drawings, BOMs, and product docs.

Responsibilities

Lead sustaining engineering on the shop floor to support performance and lifecycle needs.
Investigate product, manufacturing, and production issues with root cause analysis.
Drive continuous improvement for quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness.
Develop and implement cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
Provide engineering solutions across manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
Support product lifecycle from launch to end-of-life and ensure traceability.
