Job summary

Johnson Controls in Monterrey is seeking a Sustaining Engineer to lead shopfloor technical efforts and support the full product lifecycle of HVAC and pressure vessel products, from launch through end-of-life.

You will investigate manufacturing issues, drive continuous improvement, implement engineering changes, and collaborate with Product, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial or related field.
• Advanced English proficiency for global cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in sustaining engineering or technical product support.
• Analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead sustaining engineering on the shopfloor to support product performance and lifecycle needs.
• Investigate product and manufacturing issues and drive corrective actions.
• Drive continuous product improvement focused on quality, reliability, and cost.
• Identify cost reduction and value engineering opportunities while maintaining requirements.
• Provide technical leadership to manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams.
• Evaluate materials, components, and suppliers to improve performance and continuity.
• Generate and implement sustaining engineering changes for better performance and cost efficiency.
• Support product lifecycle from launch to end-of-life, including proper assembly and support.
