Belvo in Ciudad Valles seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a Payments team focused on building a vibrant payments platform for the Mexican market.

You will be responsible for coaching your team, executing feature delivery, and maintaining team wellbeing. Required qualifications include 4+ years in engineering leadership and experience in the startup environment, alongside technical and project management skills, and bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish.

Your Opportunity

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager to lead one of our Payments teams. This team’s goal is to build a payments platform for the Mexico market. The product is showing strong traction and we need someone that can work at a fast pace in a high‑growth product.

As a senior engineering manager, your main areas of focus are your team, its people, their performance, wellbeing, and the processes that surround that team. We are looking for people with a strong technical background and track record, who are able to lead, coordinate, and coach an already stellar engineering team.

Drive and execute the delivery of features and new products.
Set objectives, follow performance, and provide feedback.
Maintain team happiness, wellbeing, and productivity.
Participate in cross‑functional coordination, planning, and reviews with leads from other engineering teams.
Partner with Product Managers on objectives, priorities, trade‑offs, and risk.
Encourage hands‑on work to keep technical acumen sharp and understand the challenges your team faces.
Participate in technical decisions, contributing your technical knowledge as well as strategic and planning inputs.
Establish processes and address growing pains during high‑growth phases.
Participate in architecture discussions and planning.
Act as Tech Lead and be more hands‑on when required.
Maintain and foster culture by interviewing and hiring only the most qualified individuals with an eye toward diversity.

This Position May Be For You If

4+ years of experience in engineering leadership and people management
Experience working in a startup environment
Past experience as a senior individual contributor
Well‑rounded technical skills and ability to contribute to deeply technical discussions
Experience recruiting and growing a team in a context of rapid change and fast growth
Ability to be nimble, proactive, comfortable working with minimal specifications, and build a solid execution plan for your team
Strong project management skills. At Belvo the EM is responsible for both planning and execution
Experience using AI‑powered tools and frameworks to support software development, testing, or automation
Experience in payments processing technologies and vendors in the Mexican market
You speak advanced English and Spanish
