Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Chief Python Software Engineer to lead a small team of senior developers building an AI-powered financial assistant platform. You will rapidly iterate with business users to test, refine, and deploy chat, reporting, and bespoke interfaces into investment workflows.

You will own system designs, drive architecture decisions, and ensure high quality, reliable, and secure software delivery while embracing new languages and technologies as the product evolves.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Python, React (TS), or other languages.
• Experience with FastAPI, AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• High autonomy and ability to handle loosely defined tasks.
• Willingness to learn Python if not proficient.
• Experience with FE work including TS/JS, React/NextJS/Node.
• Proficiency in English (C1+).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a small team of engineers in a startup-style environment.
• Work directly with technical stakeholders without non-technical clients.
• Gather low-level requirements from high-level definitions and consider edge cases.
• Produce system designs and production-grade implementations with autonomy.
• Shape and influence product direction and architecture decisions.
• Optimize AI applications for quality, latency, reliability, and cost.
• Review AI-generated code and monitor behavior in production.
• Ensure security, data privacy, and auditability in AI systems.
