Job summary

EPAM is hiring a Lead Java Developer to build backend services and AI agent components for an AI-enabled platform that detects and remediates security issues. You will define skills, tools, and multi-agent orchestration patterns using Google ADK and BMAD methodology, collaborating with React and Python ADK engineers across business units.

The role requires 5+ years of AI agent development experience, hands-on orchestration expertise, and strong English (C1).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on AI agent development experience with orchestration, fault tolerance, validation and deterministic error handling.
• Solid understanding of orchestration patterns and agentic frameworks such as ADK or LangGraph.
• Demonstrated experience with spec-driven / documentation-first development practices.
• Ability to operate independently across distributed, cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in English at a C1 level.

• Lead technically by reviewing code, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to architectural decisions with the Anchor/SA.

We are building a Lead Java Developer role for the Assurance Agent team, delivering an AI-enabled platform to detect and remediate security issues. You will create backend services and agent workflows using Google ADK and BMAD methodology in a greenfield, spec-driven program;

Requirements

• Solid understanding of orchestration patterns and hands-on work with agentic frameworks such as ADK or LangGraph
• Demonstrated experience with spec-driven / documentation-first development practices
• Ability to operate independently across distributed, cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in English at a C1 level

Nice to have

• Working proficiency with BMAD methodology
• Google ADK experience in Python or Java
• Working knowledge of TypeScript and Python
• Background with security tooling such as SAST, DAST, SCA, or vulnerability management platforms
• Familiarity with backstage.io or developer portal platforms
