Job summary

HSBC Mexico seeks an experienced IBM Z Engineer to lead the Mainframe Z platform, ensuring high availability and critical services for the bank. Reporting to the technology head, you will drive scale, resilience, and modernization initiatives in a partnering culture.

You will manage z/OS, TSO, JCL, and related tools, collaborate with Core Enterprise Platform leaders, and balance risk with cost efficiency. Strong COBOL/SQL skills and DevOps mindset are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as infrastructure programmer in banking/financial services.
• Solid knowledge of IBM Mainframe Z technologies and DevOps practices.
• Hands-on COBOL with embedded SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all technical and operational aspects of the IBM Z platform.
• Ensure availability and continuity of the bank's critical services.
• Manage components such as z/OS, TSO, SDSF, JCL, IDCAMS, and IWS.
