Job summary

Wabtec seeks an Advanced Lead Engineer for Electric Machines in Mexico. You will design and test electric rotating machines, support manufacturing, and drive innovation across motor and alternator topologies.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams will shape product development from concept through validation. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechatronics or related field, at least 5 years of hardware design experience with motors/transformers, and strong English skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or related engineering field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hardware design experience (motors, transformers, etc.).
• Experience with rotating equipment (alternators, generators, AC motors, DC motors).
• English language proficiency (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Execute analysis, design, test, or integration for components, assemblies, or systems meeting requirements.
• Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with global teams on projects addressing organizational initiatives.
• Validate components and subassemblies; author and release drawings and specs.
• Generate engineering documents (DFMEA, design reviews, purchase specs, notes, visuals).
• Lead design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using established engineering principles.
