Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Mexico (Nuevo León) seeks a Lead Engineer for the Electric Rotating Machines team to design and develop motors, alternators, and other rotating equipment. You will work with a cross-functional group to meet program requirements, execute design and analysis, and support manufacturing and field activities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechatronics or related field, at least 5 years of hardware design experience, proficiency in English, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or related engineering field.
• At least 5 years of experience in hardware design.
• Experience with rotating equipment such as alternators, generators, AC motors and DC motors.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Execute design, analysis, testing, or integration to meet requirements for components, assemblies, or systems.
• Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with global teams on projects.
• Validate components and subassemblies; release drawings and specifications.
• Generate engineering documents (DFMEA, design review materials, purchase specs, notes, visuals).
• Lead new product introduction, reliability, or productivity initiatives.
• Document results per engineering policies and procedures.
• Participate as presenter or reviewer in technical reviews.
