Instructure, Inc. is seeking a Senior Decision Scientist to drive impact through advanced analytics that inform product adoption, customer engagement, and revenue growth.

You will lead rigorous A/B testing, causal inference studies, and end-to-end analytical projects in collaboration with product, engineering, and marketing teams. The role emphasizes AI-first thinking, data storytelling for executives, and mentoring colleagues while operating in a fast-paced SaaS/EdTech environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, CS, Economics, Applied Math, OR.
• 5–7 years of experience delivering high-impact insights in data science.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, ML, causal inference, and experimental design (A/B testing).
• Familiarity with AI tooling to improve throughput and quality.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
• Proficiency in Python or R for analysis, modeling, and visualization.
• Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran).
• Excellent communication and storytelling to translate analyses into strategic narratives.
• Ability to lead end-to-end data science initiatives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• SaaS, product analytics, or EdTech experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive business impact through data-driven insights to boost product adoption, engagement, and revenue.
• Lead experimentation and causal analysis with rigorous A/B tests and causal studies.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex questions into analytical frameworks and recommendations.
• Own end-to-end analytical solutions from opportunity identification to deployment and measurement.
• Employ AI tooling to elevate analysis standards and throughput.
• Help define best practices for experimentation, modeling, and insight delivery.
• Mentor data scientists and analysts in methodologies and stakeholder engagement.
• Communicate insights clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
