Job summary

Redwood Logistics LLC is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, a data vault, and various data warehouses and marts. You will lead a team across departments to deliver key metrics and define data strategy.

The role emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders, mentoring engineers, and advancing the data platform, with remote work options and a focus on robust data infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent experience) in Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong leadership and mentoring of data engineers.
• 8+ years technology experience with one or more of the following: Amazon Relational Database Service (Aurora, MySQL), Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake.
• Strong Python with Pandas, Streamlit, NumPy, JSON/CSV, and Requests.
• Experience with TMS, WMS or other enterprise logistics platforms is a strong plus.
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise.
• Manage backlog grooming, sprint planning, and prioritization for data engineering projects.
• Collaborate with business and technical leaders to set and execute initiatives.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and evaluate new platforms to enhance the stack.
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines from various data sources including TMS.
• Develop and maintain Data Vault, Data Warehouse, and Data Marts.
• Improve and harden deployments, data validation, error handling, and data democratization.
