Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Editor) to own the editor's technical direction and AI-powered capabilities.

You will write code, lead a team, and partner with Product to shape the roadmap while delivering high‑quality software in a fast‑moving SaaS environment. In this remote role spanning Europe and Latin America, you will mentor engineers, drive CI/CD health, and ensure production reliability while exploring AI-driven content generation, layout suggestions, and

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Experience with consumer-facing web products at scale.
• Proven record shipping AI-powered product features beyond AI tooling.
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers on roadmaps and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Own the editor's technical direction and AI-powered capabilities (content generation, layout suggestions, personalization).
• Lead the Editor 2.0 team’s delivery, planning, breakdowns, prioritization, and blockers.
• Hands-on leadership, contributing critical-path engineering work when needed.
• Maintain high standards for code reviews, testing, and reliability.
• Own incident response and production health for the editor area.
• Partner with Product to define roadmap priorities and opportunities with technical judgment.
• Evaluate AI ideas based on user workflows and conversion objectives.
