Global Payments is seeking a Payroll Lead to manage accurate, compliant payroll delivery across Mexico and Latin America. You will own end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring tax and labor law compliance while maintaining strong controls and audit readiness.

Collaborating with Finance and HR, you will drive process improvements, governance, and data-driven insights to enhance the payroll experience for colleagues across the region.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 8+ years of payroll experience across Mexico and Latin America.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican labor laws, social security regulations, tax legislation.
  • Experience with payroll systems and advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Drive accurate and timely payroll delivery across Mexico and Latin America, creating a trusted experience for colleagues and ensuring business continuity.
  • Own payroll compliance by applying labor, tax, and social security requirements, reducing risk and maintaining confidence in payroll operations.
  • Lead payroll data validation and reconciliation processes that strengthen accuracy, improve reporting quality, and support informed business decisions.
  • Shape continuous improvement initiatives that simplify processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the payroll experience across the region.
  • Build strong partnerships with finance and human resources teams to create seamless connections between payroll and broader people processes.
  • Influence payroll governance by maintaining robust records, strengthening Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) controls, and ensuring audit readiness.
  • Use payroll insights and reporting to identify trends, improve consistency, and drive operational excellence.
  • Create positive colleague experiences by resolving payroll inquiries with professionalism, accuracy, and a strong client‑focused mindset.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • 8+ years of payroll experience across Mexico and Latin America, including ownership of end‑to‑end payroll processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican labor laws, social security regulations, tax legislation, and payroll compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with payroll systems and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain exceptional attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, relationship‑building, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, teamwork, and delivering outstanding service to colleagues.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting payroll operations within a shared services or global organization, where you’ve helped streamline processes across multiple countries or entities.
  • Exposure to SOX (Sarbanes‑Oxley) controls, audit processes, or regulated environments where strong governance and control discipline is essential.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives in payroll or HR operations, where you’ve influenced process enhancements, automation, or system optimization.
