PHINIA, a leading automotive supplier, is seeking a Laboratory Test Specialist to execute and follow up on tests for materials, components, and products to meet technical specs and customer requirements within the automotive industry.

You will analyze results, operate lab equipment, prepare technical reports, and coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to support failure analysis and corrective actions.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/mechatronics/electronics/industrial engineering or related field.
  • 2–4 years in laboratory testing, validation, or quality within automotive/manufacturing.
  • Experience operating laboratory equipment and interpreting technical specifications and standards.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform laboratory tests and validate products per specifications.
  • Analyze and document test results.
  • Operate and monitor laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Verify compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Coordinate activities with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Prepare technical reports and result documentation.
  • Maintain basic control and calibration of testing equipment.

JOB PURPOSE

Execute and follow up on laboratory tests to validate materials, components, and products, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements within the automotive industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform laboratory tests and product validation activities.
  • Analyze and document test results.
  • Operate and monitor laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Verify compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Support failure analysis and corrective actions.
  • Prepare technical reports and result documentation.
  • Coordinate activities with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain basic control and calibration of testing equipment.
What we’re looking for
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in laboratory testing, validation, or quality within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Knowledge required: Operation of laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Interpretation technical specifications and standards
  • Data analysis and preparation of technical reports
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or performance testing
  • Basic Core Tools knowledge (APQP, PPAP, FMEA)
  • Automotive quality systems (IATF 16949)
  • Excel and analysis tools
