Job summary

Qualcomm IT seeks a Kubernetes generalist to help build, deploy, and manage high-performance bare-metal on-prem and cloud-based Kubernetes clusters using Rancher. You will automate platforms, monitor clusters, and contribute to multi-tenant patterns and policy testing.

The role offers growth through project work and mentorship within a mature Kubernetes team; experience with on-prem and cloud distributions (RKE2, GKE, EKS, AKS) is valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• 5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree (alternative path).
• Experience deploying and managing enterprise Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience with Linux, especially Ubuntu, as a primary OS.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Docker and container engines; container internals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction, deployment, management, automation of Kubernetes clusters.
• Monitor performance and availability of all Kubernetes clusters, including GPU acceleration.
• Develop and deploy platform automation scripts and software.
• Work on multi-tenant Kubernetes patterns and cluster upgrades.
• Collaborate with Kubernetes platform administrators and mentors.
