Junior-Mid System Administrator

The Role:

We are seeking a System Administrator to support and develop our global infrastructure, with expertise in Linux system administration, cloud technologies, networking, and incident management.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain, administer, and enhance Linux and Unix-based physical and virtual infrastructure across 20+ international locations.
2. Proactively monitor systems, analyze logs, and manage incidents to ensure maximum uptime, security, and performance.
3. Deploy, troubleshoot, and sustain critical cloud and on-premises environments.
4. Participate in infrastructure improvement projects and automation efforts.
5. Conduct root cause analysis and post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence.
6. Assist support teams in resolving complex customer issues and establish clear escalation procedures.
7. Document operational procedures and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

1. At least 2 years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration in production settings.
2. Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (KVM preferred; VMware or similar is a plus).
3. Practical experience with containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar).
4. Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls, routing).
5. Experience with monitoring tools and log management solutions (Zabbix, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
6. Familiarity with incident and change management processes (ITIL-based).
7. Experience with production database systems (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL).
8. Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation.
9. Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Bonus Skills (advantageous):

1. Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
2. Knowledge of JIRA Service Management and Confluence.
3. Experience with version control systems (GIT, Mercurial).
4. Exposure to hybrid cloud environments.
5. Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Note: Work hours are from 2 PM to 11 PM Guadalajara time.
