SWBC is seeking a talented individual to work on legacy COBOL-based applications hosted on an iSeries platform. This role provides comprehensive training in COBOL, ideal for those starting in software development.

Key responsibilities include assisting in application maintenance, debugging, and collaborating with senior developers. Candidates should possess an associate degree in a related field and have a basic understanding of programming concepts.

Formación

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of programming concepts and logic.
• Ability to write SQL queries.
• Basic understanding of Java.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Prior experience with any programming language is a plus but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of legacy COBOL applications.
• Perform debugging and troubleshooting to resolve application issues.
• Collaborate with senior developers to understand system requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and improve coding standards.
• Document application changes and support system testing.
• Work closely with the IT team for application performance.
• Learn and apply COBOL programming best practices.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
